About PlayConnect+
PlayConnect+ is delivered by the state and territory playgroup associations in a consortium led by Autism Queensland, and in partnership with the autism peak bodies of South Australia, Western Australia, and New South Wales.
This service is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability, and Ageing.
PlayConnect+ playgroups are fully-funded as part of the National Early Childhood Program (NECP). They are inclusive playgroups for children with disability or developmental concerns age 0-8, their families, carers, and siblings.
They are delivered across Australia in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote locations, as well as online. No formal diagnosis is required to attend a PlayConnect+ playgroup.
PlayConnect+ groups are delivered on the core characteristic of high-quality playgroups, identified in Playgroup Principles (Australian Institute of Family Studies). Music playgroups are informed by the evidence-based Sing & Grow music therapy program and delivered by music therapists.
